Robert Buscemi

In January 2005, the Chicago Tribune called Robert Buscemi "clever and sophisticated...worthy of such big-time fests as Aspen and Montreal...bordering on Andy Kaufmanesque." A fixture on Chicago's comedy scene, Buscemi performs all over town-at Zanies, the Lincoln Lodge, the Elevated, and elsewhere. In addition to writing and starring in critically acclaimed hour-long one-man sketch comedy shows, Buscemi has done improv, acted in plays with award-winning Chicago theater companies, and attended the 2002 Steppenwolf Theatre Summer Conservatory. Robert's also a SAG member who has appeared in a number of short films and commercials, including ones for American Mattress and Empire Carpet (no kidding). Robert was nominated for "The Best Comedian" at the 2007 Chicago Comedy Awards.

Here'e some raves from the critics:

"We can't say enough about this comic. Robert Buscemi is daring and fearless in his off-key humor, and could easily be the next big Chicago comedian. See him at the local level--before he goes away." --Chicago Tribune

"As one of the most inventive comics in the Chicago underground stand-up scene, Buscemi is poised for stardom." www.FlavorPill.net

"Buscemi is one of the best alternative stand-up comics in town." Time Out Chicago

"Look out for Robert Buscemi!" The Chicago Reader

"Buscemi is the Grandmaster of Independent Comedy in Chicago." www.TheBastion.org
